Add auth & a database to an AI app
Short answer: a UI isn’t a product without a backend. The simplest way to add auth and a database to an AI-generated app is to use a builder that generates them for you. Turn on BerryBell Cloud and BerryBell provisions a dedicated Postgres database for the project, with optional end-user sign-in and roles (on a paid plan) installed into it.
Why front-end-only isn’t enough
Tools that generate only the interface leave you to wire up data storage, sign-in and server logic — the hard, security-sensitive parts. That’s where projects stall.
The faster path
Describe the data and who can access it: “users can sign up, create projects, and only see their own.” BerryBell generates:
- a dedicated Postgres database with the right schema — isolated compute that scales to zero, and pgvector installed if you need embeddings,
- on a paid plan, end-user authentication (sign-up, login, sessions) and roles, installed into that same database so the credentials stay in your project,
- application code that scopes queries to the signed-in user, so people only see their own data.
Keep your code
The generated backend is real, typed code you can read in the browser and export to GitHub on a paid plan — no black box.
