Base44 pricing (2026): plans, credits, free plan
Base44 has a free plan and four paid plans: Starter at $20 a month, Builder at $50, Pro at $100 and Elite at $200, each 20% less when billed yearly. Every plan, the free one included, comes with a database, user sign-in and hosting. What the price buys is credits: message credits for building with Base44’s AI, and integration credits for what your app does once it’s live. GitHub sync and backend functions start at Builder.
We checked every figure here against Base44’s own pricing page and its billing and plans and credits docs on 18 October 2026. Prices are in US dollars and change often, so check Base44’s site before you buy.
How much does Base44 cost?
| Plan | Per month | Message credits | Integration credits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 25 | 100 |
| Starter | $20 | 100 | 2,000 |
| Builder | $50 | 250 | 10,000 |
| Pro | $100 | 500 | 20,000 |
| Elite | $200 | 1,200 | 50,000 |
Credits are a monthly allowance. Billed yearly, the paid plans work out to $16, $40, $80 and $160 a month. Base44’s docs say the in-app Plans page lets you choose how many credits Elite comes with; the public pricing page shows the 1,200-credit version.
Above Elite sit two plans for organisations. Business is self-serve: everything in Elite plus SSO, data residency, IP allowlisting, member roles and per-member credit limits, in six credit sizes from 2,400 to 5,400 message credits a month. Base44’s public pricing page doesn’t list its price. Enterprise adds SCIM provisioning, audit logs and a dedicated account team, and is priced by quote.
What does each Base44 plan include?
- Free: the core features, including the database, authentication and analytics, for up to 5 apps.
- Starter ($20): unlimited apps, private apps, editing your app’s code inside Base44, connecting your own domain, and removing the Base44 badge from your app. Yearly billing adds a free domain for a year.
- Builder ($50): adds backend functions, the GitHub integration and a choice of AI model. Yearly billing also adds 25 credits to share with a friend.
- Pro ($100): adds early access to beta features.
- Elite ($200): adds premium support.
Every plan also includes Base44’s visual editor, an analytics dashboard, cloud storage, user management and multi-user editing. Credits belong to the workspace, so everyone you invite draws on the same pool.
Is Base44 free?
Yes. The Free plan costs nothing and includes Base44’s core features: the database, user sign-in and analytics, for up to 5 apps. Its limits are what make it a way to try Base44 rather than a home for a real product:
- 25 message credits a month, and no more than 5 a day. The daily allowance resets at midnight in the workspace owner’s time zone.
- 100 integration credits a month for the things your app does, such as sending emails.
- New apps are public. Since 6 February 2026, creating a private app needs Starter or above.
- No custom domain, and the Base44 badge stays on. Both need Starter.
- Automatic fixes cost credits. On Free, Base44’s automatic error fixes use message credits; on paid plans they’re free.
Base44’s pricing page doesn’t mention a free trial of the paid plans, so the Free plan is the way to try it.
How can you get Base44 for free, or cheaper?
- Stay on Free and work within 5 message credits a day.
- Share your project. Base44 gives 20 message credits, once per account, for a qualifying post about your project on LinkedIn or X (the feature is rolling out gradually). It also runs a referral program.
- Students and teachers at accredited schools, colleges and universities get 50% off Starter or Builder after verifying a school email address, once per account.
- Pay yearly, which takes 20% off every paid plan.
How do Base44 credits work?
Base44 uses two kinds of credit, and they run out separately.
Message credits pay for building: every prompt that plans, changes or fixes your app. There’s no fixed price per message. Base44’s rough guide is about 0.5 credits for a simple visual or text change, 1 for improving a small feature, 2 for adding a complex module and 3 to 4 for a change across the whole app, and the real cost is worked out after each message runs. A message in Discuss mode, which talks ideas through without changing the app, uses about 0.3 credits. Editing text or layout by hand in the visual editor uses none.
Integration credits pay for what your live app does with Base44’s built-in services. Base44’s estimates are about 1 credit to send an email (2 from your own domain), 1 to generate an image, 1 for an AI call on the automatic model, about 1 for every 10 workflow steps and about 1 for every 100 backend-function runs. Reading and writing your app’s database costs nothing, and neither does calling an outside service with your own API key.
Resets. On paid plans both kinds reset monthly, on the day of the month you subscribed, and unused credits expire. The one exception: moving from a monthly plan to a higher monthly plan carries your unused credits over for one more cycle. Bonus and top-up credits never carry over.
Running out. Actions that need credits pause until your next reset, unless you upgrade. If your integration credits run out, the parts of your live app that use them, such as emails, stop working, and your users see a generic error.
What are the disadvantages of Base44?
Judged on pricing, these are the trade-offs to know before you pay:
- Two meters, not one. Building and running are billed from separate pools, so you have two balances to watch, and running out of integration credits breaks live features.
- Unused credits expire every month. Apart from the one-off carry-over on a monthly upgrade, nothing rolls over.
- You can’t price a message in advance. Credit use is calculated after each action, and Base44 says there’s no way to preview an integration credit cost before you run it.
- GitHub and backend functions start at $50 a month. Both need Builder, as does choosing the AI model.
- No refunds. Base44’s terms make its services non-refundable, and credits spent on AI mistakes aren’t refunded.
Is Base44 worth it?
It can be, if an all-in-one managed platform suits what you’re building. The database, sign-in and hosting come with every plan, so there’s nothing else to set up, and the Free plan lets you find out whether Base44 builds what you need before you spend anything. Before you upgrade, check three things:
- How much building you’ll do. By Base44’s own estimate, improving a small feature costs about a credit, so think about whether 100 message credits a month on Starter covers how you work.
- What your live app does. Emails, AI calls and workflow steps spend integration credits every time a user sets one off.
- Whether you need GitHub or backend functions. If you do, your real starting price is Builder at $50 a month.
Base44 vs Lovable: which is better?
Neither is better for everyone, and they price things differently:
| Base44 | Lovable | |
|---|---|---|
| Free plan | 25 message credits a month (5 a day) | 5 build credits a day (30 a month) |
| First paid plan | Starter, $20/mo | Pro, $25/mo |
| Credits | Separate pools for building and running | One balance for building, hosting and AI |
| Unused credits | Expire at each reset | Roll over, lasting two months from issue* |
| GitHub | Builder ($50) and up | Every plan, Free included |
| Custom domain | Starter ($20) and up | Pro ($25) and up |
*While you’re subscribed, on monthly billing. On yearly billing, Lovable’s monthly credits last until a month after the yearly term ends.
Lovable’s figures come from its own pricing page and docs, checked the same day; our Lovable pricing guide has the detail. Choose Base44 if you want an all-in-one managed platform and a custom domain on the cheapest paid plan. Choose Lovable if you want GitHub sync from the free plan and credits that roll over. Can you make money with Base44?
You can build an app that charges its users. Base44 says it builds payments along with the frontend, backend and sign-in, and that you own the code, the data and your users. Whether the app makes money depends on the app, not the builder. On the cost side, budget for your plan, for integration credits as usage grows, and for third-party services you connect, such as Stripe, which bill you directly. Our guide to making an app and making money covers choosing a pricing model.
How does Base44’s pricing compare with BerryBell?
BerryBell is also free to start and credit-based. The free plan gives you 20 AI credits and $5 of hosting budget when you sign up, then 5 AI credits a day, with no card. Pro starts at $25 a month for 100 AI credits plus $10 of Cloud usage for running your apps, and includes your own domain, GitHub sync and full source download, and sign-in for your app’s users (with a BerryBell Cloud database). Credits cost the same on every paid plan, and top-ups carry over until you use them.
